Men's Polo Charges Past Yale, 23-10

ITHACA, N.Y.—The Big Red men's polo team opened the William S. Field Invitational with a 23-10 win over Yale on Wednesday night at the Oxley Equestrian Center. Cornell has won its last seven matches to move to 7-1 for the season.

The Big Red shutout Yale 10-0 after the first chukker with Max Constant, Bobby Harvey and Tim Scott all riding for Cornell. David Dunstan came in for the Big Red in the second chukker to see his first action of the season. Cornell rode on to a 15-5 lead after the half, and Rich Weidel came in to ride for Constant in the third. The Big Red had foul trouble in the third and lost 5-4, but was still leading 19-8. Louis de Lencquesaing replaced Scott in the fourth and helped Weidel and Scott bring home the 23-10 win.

Weidel led Cornell with eight goals, while Constant had five, Dunstan four, Harvey three and Scott two. The Big Red also had one penalty goal.

Cornell will next play Stanford on Nov. 21 at 9:15 p.m.
