HEAD COACH STEVE DONAHUE
Cornell head coach Steve Donahue is in his ninth season at Cornell (99-125, .442) ... Donahue became the fourth Robert E. Gallagher '44 Coach of Men's Basketball at Cornell on Sept. 6, 2000.

ITHACA, N.Y. — The Big Red men's basketball team (3-2) will look to give head coach Steve Donahue his 100th career victory when it meets Eastern Michigan on Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 5:45 p.m. at Carnesecca Arena on the campus of St. John's in the consolation rounds of the NIT Preseason Tip-Off tournament. Barry Leonard will provide the call on 1160 ESPN Radio, while live audio of the game will be available on the RedCast subscription service.

Donahue, the 2007-08 NABC and USBWA District Coach of the Year, has directed his teams to a 99-125 record in nine seasons directing the Big Red. His teams have matched or improved on their overall and league win total in each of the last six seasons.

The Big Red put together its most complete game of the season in last night's 78-53 victory over Loyola-Chicago, shooting a season-best 60 percent from the floor, limiting the Ramblers to 37 percent shooting and dominating the backboards 41-19. Junior guard Geoff Reeves had a career-high 26 points onj 10-of-14 shooting and made 5-of-6 from beyond the 3-point arc to lead four double-figure scorers, while classmate Ryan Wittman notched 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting. Freshman Chris Wroblewski had a career-best 13 points, while senior Jeff Foote notched 10 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks for his fifth career double-double.

The trio of Wittman (20.0 ppg.), Reeves (16.0 ppg.) and Foote (13.8 ppg., 7.8 rpg., 4.4 bpg.) paces the Big Red, which has alternated wins and losses in its first five games. The defending Ivy League champion holds a strong +3.4 rebounding margin and had limited opponents to 43 percent shooting from the floor overall and 33 percent from beyond the arc.

Eastern Michigan fell to St. John's 73-61, though the Red Storm was without leading scorer Anthony Mason Jr., who had 24 points in an 86-75 victory over the Big Red last week. The Eagles slipped to 1-4 despite 13 points from both Justin Dobbins and Brandon Bowdry. EMU shot just 38 percent from the floor and 28 percent from 3-point range in the loss, with St. John's dominating on the backboards with a 50-28 edge, including a 17-9 advantage on the offensive glass.

CORNELL VS. THE MID-AMERICAN CONFERENCE: The Big Red holds a 33-31 all-time record against current members of the Mid-American Conference, including a 1-2 mark against Eastern Michigan. The Big Red has faced Ball State (0-1), Bowling Green (0-3), Buffalo (30-14), Eastern Michigan (1-2), Kent State (0-1), Miami (OH) (1-0), Northern Illinois (0-2), Ohio (1-3) and Toledo (0-5). Cornell has never faced Akron, Central Michigan and Western Michigan. This is the only game scheduled against a MAC team.

A WIN OVER EASTERN MICHIGAN WOULD ...
• improve Cornell's record to 4-2.
• be the 100th career coaching victory for head coach Steve Donahue.
• make the Big Red 3-1 in NIT Preseason Tip-Off games.
• give the Big Red 22 wins in its last 26 games.
• even the all-time series at 2-2.
• be the 1,128th in school history.

NOTES VS. LOYOLA-CHICAGO
Geoff Reeves (26 points) and Chris Wroblewski (13) set career highs in scoring, while Brian Kreefer had a career-best six assists.
• Cornell's +22 rebounding advantage (41-19) was the biggest by a Big Red team since outboarding Dartmouth 59-30 on Feb. 20, 2004.
• The Big Red shot 60 percent in a game for the first time since also hitting 30-of-50 shots in the 2002-03 season-opening win at Buffalo.
• Cornell also hit better than 60 percent of its shots from beyond the arc (9-of-14, .643), its best effort from beyond the arc since making 11-of-18 3-pointers for .611 in a win over Siena in 2007-08.
Jeff Foote posted his fifth career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
• The Big Red limited Ramblers' leading scorer J.R. Blount to five points on 2-of-10 shooting. He entered the game averaging 19.3 points per game.

NEXT UP: Cornell returns to action on Sunday, Nov. 30, when it meets Indiana at Assembly Hall for a 4 p.m. tip-off. The Big Red and the Hoosiers will play on the Big Ten television network. It will be the first meeting between the two programs.
