Rowing Puts in Solid Showing at Princeton Chase

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Cornell rowing teams traveled to New Jersey today to take part in the Princeton Chase, a three-mile race hosted by Princeton University on Lake Carnegie. In total, the Big Red had 34 boats row in the chase with 15 placing in the top-10.

RACE HIGHLIGHTS
* Cornell had three boats in the men's heavyweight varsity-8 race and took fifth (13:27.063), 11th (13:49.547) and 16th (13:58.405).

* In the men's varsity heavyweight-4, Cornell took fifth (15:14.067), eighth (15:28.533), 19th (15:49.804), 21st (15:50.733) and 23rd (15:55.463).

* Cornell had two boats in the men's heavyweight freshman-8 and took eighth (14:44.873) and ninth (14:46.265).

* Cornell had three boats in the women's varsity-8 race and took 16th (15:59.220), 36th (16:42.269) and 45th (17:12.616).

* In the women's varsity-4, Cornell took sixth (17:44.187), 20th (18:17.178), 25th (18:27.513) and 27th (18:29.248).

* Cornell had two boats in the women's novice-8 and placed fourth (16:36.256) and eighth (17:24.446).

* Cornell had three boats in the men's varsity lightweight-8 race and placed eighth (13:41.785), 10th (13:51.210) and 11th (13:58.830).

* In the men's varsity lightweight-4, Cornell placed 12th (15:42.488), 17th (15:53.156), 19th (15:54.939) and 25th (16:13.037).

* Cornell had two boats in the men's freshman lightweight-8 and took sixth (14:49.969) and ninth (14:57.785).

* In the small boats race, the men's pair of William Brumsted and Matthew Rung took seventh in a time of 16:42.338, while the pair of James Thompson and Chris Norberg placed ninth (16:48.599) and the pair of Thomas Davidson and Mike Bohs took 10th (16:49.443). The women's pair of Cecelia Madsen and Lauren Fisher placed 26th overall, first among women's crews, in a time of 18:05.037, while the women's pair of Alex Almeida and Taylor Goetzinger took 40th overall, 10th among women's crews, in a time of 19:23.571. The women's double of Harlan Trevithick and Caroline Post took 30th overall, second among women's crews, in a time of 18:20.587.
