HAMDEN, Conn. -- Cornell got goals from Catherine White, Chelsea Karpenko and Karlee Overguard as the Cornell women's hockey team skated to a 3-3 tie at Quinnipiac on Saturday afternoon in Hamden, Conn. Cornell led 3-1 after two periods, but the Bobcats rallied with a pair of goals in the final minute of the game to tie the score.

Quinnipiac (6-4-4, 4-1-3 ECAC Hockey) got on the board first as Heather Hughes scored at the 15:04 mark of the first period, but White got the tying goal just 2:50 later, tipping a shot from Kelly McGinty past Victoria Vigilanti as the two teams went to the locker room at the end of one tied at one.

In the second, the Cornell power play gave the Big Red the lead, as, with the Big Red on a 5-on-3 advantage, Laura Fortino put a pair of shots on goal, with the rebound of the second one coming off to Karpenko, who jammed the puck into the net at the 7:45 mark of the period.

Cornell (6-3-1, 6-1-1 ECAC Hockey) added to the lead at the 15:29 mark of the period when Overguard scored a short-handed goal, collecting her own rebound of a shot wide of the goal and off the end boards before buring the shot into the left corner of the goal for the 3-1 lead.

With Cornell just seconds away from picking up its seventh win of the season, Hughes scored her second goal of the night with 29 seconds left. Eight seconds later, the Bobcats scored again, this time with Janine Duffy taking a pass from Hughes and beating Cornell goaltender Amanda Mazzotta for the game-tying goal.

Mazzotta picked up 13 saves for the Big Red, while Vigilanti stopped 32 shots in the tie for Quinnipiac. Cornell went 1-for-3 on the power play while holding the Bobcats scoreless in two extra-man opportunities.

Cornell returns to action on Saturday when it steps out of conference play to take on Niagara in a 7 p.m. contest at Lynah Rink.
