Allie Fedorowicz matched a career-high with 25 points, but it wasn't enough as the Big Red women's basketball team fell to Albany, 80-55. With the loss, Cornell falls to 3-3 on the season.
Fedorowicz connected on 8-of-14 shots from the floor, including 6-of-8 from beyond the arc as Cornell's only scorer in double-figures.
Christine Vlasic pulled down a team-high eight rebounds, while
Lauren Benson handed out six assists.
Albany (3-2) was led by Ebone Henry with 14 points, while Tabitha Makopondo and Melia Basavand tallied 13 and 11 points, respectively.
Cornell shot 43.5 percent in the first half to go into the intermission trailing, 30-27, but saw its shooting touch go cold in the second half, hitting just 28.6 percent.
Cornell got off to a great start, taking a 12-point lead at the 10:44 mark of the first half, 18-6, thanks to three straight treys by Fedorowicz. After trading baskets for the next five minutes of action, the Great Danes closed the half with a 14-3 run to take a 30-27 lead into the break.
A 3-pointer by Fedorowicz at the start of the second half brought Cornell back within three points, 33-30, but a 9-1 scoring run put the home team up by double-digits, 41-31 at the 16:42 mark.

Kristina Danielak gave the Big Red some momentum, making it a 41-35 game with just over 15 minutes to play. From there, however, the Great Danes used a prolonged 12-4 run to go up, 53-39. Albany kept a comfortable lead the rest of the way, cruising to the 80-55 victory.
The Big Red is back in action on Thursday, Dec. 3, as it plays host to in-state rival Colgate at Newman Arena at 7 p.m.
