ITHACA, N.Y.—The Big Red women's squash team continued its winning ways on Saturday with its third-straight victory by defeating Mt. Holyoke by an 8-1 score. Cornell improves to 7-4 for the season.
The Big Red picked up wins at the No. 2 through 9 positions and added a win in the No. 10 spot in exhibition play. All eight of Cornell's wins came by 3-0 marks. At the No. six position, Annie Ritter shutout her opponent 9-0 in her first two games and only allowed two points in the third and final game. At the No. 7 spot, Clare Berner only allowed two points in the first game against Katarzyne Kolodziejczak before shutting out her opponent in the next two. Alix Watson shutout Hillela Simpson 9-0 in the first game, and held the Mount Holyoke player to a single point in the next two games.
Cornell will take on Brown and William Smith in its final home matches of the season at 10 a.m. on Sunday at the Belkin International Squash Courts.
