For Niagara (3-9-3), goaltender Jenni Bauer stopped 40 shots in taking the loss.

Cornell (9-1) got on the board at the 12:44 mark of the first period when Amber Overguard scored the eventual game-winning goal, crashing the net to pop in a shot past Bauer. A little more than four minutes later, it was Hughes scoring, taking a pass from Karpenko from the faceoff dot to the right of Bauer and one-timing a shot inside the weak-side post as Cornell took the 2-0 lead into the first intermission.

In the second, it was Jenner who added to the lead at the 5:50 mark of the period, taking a pass in the slot from Gagliardi ripping a shot over Bauer's shoulder on the stick side to make the score 3-0.  White then made the score 4-0 when she tipped home a shot from the point by Gagliardi that beat Bauer inside the glove-side post.

White added her second goal of the night at the 1:52 mark of the third period with Hughes and Karpenko adding assists, and Karpenko finished off the night with her goal, jamming home the puck at the 17:02 mark of the third period.

Cornell will look for the weekend sweep of Niagara and its sixth straight victory when the Big Red takes on the Purple Eagles on Saturday in a 2 p.m. contest at Lynah Rink.
