ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cornell University men's heavyweight rowing team will play host to Harvard on Saturday, April 3, on the Cayuga Lake Inlet. The meeting will be the first head-to-head competition between the two crews in 49 years.
CORNELL/HARVARD SERIES HISTORY: Despite having two of the oldest rowing programs in the country, the Big Red and Harvard have rowed in head-to-head competition just seven times, with the last meeting coming in 1961. Cornell holds the advantage in the series, 4-3, having won the first two meetings in 1947 and 1948, as well as the last two meetings in 1952 and 1961. The Crimson earned its three victories in consecutive seasons from 1949-51.
