Princeton (21-20, 15-5 Ivy League) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning of game one, scoring three unearned runs on a pair of Cornell errors, but the Big Red responded with a single run in the bottom half of the inning. Billigen drew a walk to open up the inning, then stole second and scored on Brodsky's single to left-center.
The Tigers restored the three-run lead with a single tally in the third, then stretched the margin to 6-1 with another pair of runs in the sixth, but the Big Red mounted a comeback in the bottom of the seventh. Back-to-back one-out singles by Billigen and Yanzick put two men on for Brodsky, who ripped a triple to the gap in left-center, scoring two, but Brodsky would be stranded at third as
Frank Hager fouled out and Cruz struck out to end the game.
In game two, Cornell (10-30, 7-13 Ivy) took a 1-0 lead in the second, taking advantage of back-to-back doubles by Cruz and
Brenton Peters, and Lea held onto the lead until the fifth inning. A two-out single was followed by a triple to right-center, knotting the game at one.
Princeton broke the game open in the eighth inning, scoring four runs, but only one of them earned. The Tigers would tack on an insurance run in the ninth to seal the final margin of victory.
