Box Score ITHACA, N.Y. - Two first period goals helped Boston College build an insurmountable lead, as the Eagles downed No. 3 Cornell 4-1 at Lynah Rink on Saturday afternoon. The loss is the first for the Big Red, now 9-1-2.

Meagan Mangene opened the scoring for Boston College with a power play tally just over 12 minutes into the first period with assists going to Taylor Wasylk and Haley Skarupa. Shortly after Mangene's goal, Cornell's senior netminder Lauren Slebodnick left the game with an injury and was replaced by freshman Paula Voorheis.

Wasylk and Danielle Doherty added even-strength goals for the Eagles' late in the first and midway through the second, respectively, to increase the visitor's lead to three goals heading into the second intermission.

Senior co-captain Jessica Campbell got the Big Red on the board just 44 seconds into the third period off a feed from linemate Jillian Saulnier, but couldn't spark a comeback. A short-handed score by the Eagles' Emily Field at the 11:27 mark helped to seal the victory for Boston College (12-4-1).

Boston College goaltender Corinne Boyles finished with 39 saves, while Voorheis made 26 saves in the loss. Slebonick stopped three shots before her departure.

Cornell will close out it's first semester schedule with a game against Syracuse at the War Memorial at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
