ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell freshman guard Matt Morgan was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week on Nov. 23 after helping the Big Red to a pair of victories last week. It is the first weekly award for Morgan. The Concord, N.C. averaged 17.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.3 steals, 1.0 assists and 0.7 blocks per game while hitting eight 3-pointers in his three starts.

Against 2015 Patriot League runner-up Colgate, Morgan had 16 points and seven rebounds, including 12 points coming in the two overtime periods. He added a career-best two steals in the win. In Cornell's home-opening win against Binghamton, Morgan wowed the crowd with 20 points, including five three-pointers, and added four rebounds, two steals and a blocked shot. He closed his week with a team-high 12 points to go along with two assists and a blocked shot at Canisius.

Morgan and the Big Red face Penn State-Harrisburg on Monday, Nov. 23 at 8:30 p.m. at Newman Arena,
