Mayers contributed to her third straight goal when she collected a ball just over midfield, carried into the circle, took a challenge by a Hawk defender and managed to poke the ball ahead to Fitzpatrick, who collected the ball and scored on the open net to make it 4-0 at the 44:57 mark.

Less than 10 minutes later Cornell concluded the scoring for the game when Marisa Seirgiej scored on a direct penalty corner shot with the assists credited to her sister Isabel Seirgiej and Standiford.

The Big Red will participate in a pair of games at the University of Vermont Tournament next weekend, taking on the host Catamounts on Sept. 19 before facing Maine the following day. Vermont has won all three meetings in the series, but the teams have not played each other since 2011. Cornell upset No. 20 Maine a year ago to earn its first win in the series, which the Black Bears lead, 3-1.
