ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell women's polo team picked up its first win of the 2016-17 season when it rolled past Skidmore 28-7. The Big Red dominated the regional rival to improve to 1-2 on the year.
With a starting lineup of Emma Eldredge, Hannah Noyes and Shariah Harris, the Big Red jumped out to an impressive 18-0 lead after the first chukker. Harris topped the BIg Red with 10 goals in the chukker, while Eldredge added five and Noyes netted three. Noyes and Harris gave way to Claire Stieg and Gillian Cowley for the second. Cornell added three more goals before Skidmore tallied its first goal. Cowley and Stieg would finish the match with Harris and Noyes each playing one more chukker as the home team cruised.
The Big Red returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 7:30 p.m. when Garrison Forest visits Oxley Equestrian Center.
