ITHACA, N.Y. — The women's soccer team celebrated Senior Day in style on Saturday afternoon with a dominating 4-1 victory over Dartmouth at Berman Field. The victory moved the Big Red to a final record of 5-9-2 overall and 2-4-1 in the Ivy League. Cornell's seven points in Ancient Eight play match its best total since 1995.

Playing in her last game alongside her five senior classmates, defender Kailey Joyce scored her first collegiate goal in just the game's third minute to set the tone. Fellow tri-captain Elizabeth Crowell provided the service on a corner kick from the right side, and Joyce scored on a clear header from the top of the 6-yard box.

Freshman Kennedy Yearby doubled the lead in the in the 11th minute when she worked a give-and-go from the middle third and maneuvered around defenders about 20 yards from goal to set up a left-footed shot that scooted inside the post to Dartmouth's goalkeeper's left.

Junior Paige DeLoach gave Cornell a 3-0 lead before halftime with her team-leading fourth goal of the season in the 36th minute. She caused a turnover from a Big Green central defender near midfield and was off to the races, calmly slipping the ball under the charging Dartmoth goalkeeper from 15 yards out.

Senior goalkeeper Kelsey Tierney played the first half, making three saves to earn the victory. Freshman goalkeeper Chrissy Mayer made her collegiate debut to start the second half before sophomore Meghan Kennedy finished out the rest of the game in goal.

Freshman Karli Berry scored her first collegiate goal to give the Big Red a season-high goal output of four goals. Sophomore midfielder Jessica Ritchie sent in a cross from the right side that DeLoach knocked down into the path of Berry, and she sent a shot across goal and off the inside of the post.

Seniors Aimee Tavzel, Dana Daniels and Taylor Wright also played their final games at Cornell. The senior class won a total of 29 games over their four seasons on East Hill, which is the highest total with the program since the Class of 1997.
