ITHACA, N.Y. —
Harry Freeman swept the No. 1 match in three sets, but the men's squash team came up on the short end of an 8-1 decision against Harvard on Sunday at Belkin International Squash Courts.
Cornell began the weekend ranked 12th in the country by the College Squash Association, and Harvard stood in seventh. The Crimson swept four of the opening six matches to clinch the match. Sophomore
Liad Hare was the only Big Red entry to force a match to a fifth set, battling back from a 2-0 deficit.
After a tough five-set loss Saturday against Dartmouth, Freeman battled back in convincing fashion Sunday. The victory was the third of the season for the Big Red's only entry at the No. 1 position, and his first three-set sweep.
Cornell will play four matches in a stretch of three days in its final action before the CSA national championships. The Big Red travels to Princeton at 5:30 p.m. Friday, then visits Franklin & Marshall at 11 a.m. Saturday. The regular season closes at home, with Cornell hosting a doubleheader against Penn and Hobart starting at noon Sunday.
