PROVIDENCE, R.I. and NEW HAVEN, Conn. — In its final road trip of the regular season, Cornell women's hockey will continue to fight for a spot in the ECAC Hockey playoffs. The Big Red is currently three points out of a playoff bid behind Rensselaer in eighth. Yale, which will host Cornell on Saturday, currently holds the seventh spot. In addition to seeking coveted conference points, the Big Red will be looking to continue double-digit unbeaten streaks against Brown and the Bulldogs. Saturday afternoon's game at Yale will be simulcast on the Ivy League Digital Network and ESPN3.

ABOUT BROWNThe Bears once again salvaged a tie after being dramatically outshot, playing Harvard to a 3-3 draw on Friday, Feb. 5, despite shots being 54-30 in the Crimson's favor. The tie was Brown's fifth ECAC Hockey point of the season, leaving them in 11th in the standings heading into this weekend. The Bears have also tied with Union and Cornell, with their lone conference win coming against the Dutchwomen in December. Junior Maddie Woo leads the team with 13 points, while sophomore Sam Donovan is the team's leading goal-scorer with seven tallies. Junior goaltender Monica Elvin stopped 51 shots in the tie with Harvard and currently holds a 3.80 goals-against average and .903 save percentage. Elvin has split time in net relatively evenly with sophomore Julianne Landry, who has a 3.62 goals-against average and .894 save percentage.
THE SERIES VS. BROWNCornell outshot the Bears, 48-17, when Brown made the trip to Ithaca on Jan. 16, but the Bears found the back of the net twice to tie the Big Red, 2-2. Though not a win, the draw extended Cornell's unbeaten streak against Brown to 18 games, with the Bears' last win against the Big Red coming on Jan. 20, 2007. Cornell holds a 42-34-9 advantage in the all-time series. Last season, on Jan. 17, 2015, Brown jumped out to a 1-0 lead and tied the game at 2-2 before the Big Red scored a pair of power play goals to win, 4-2. When the teams played at Lynah on Nov. 14, 2014,

ABOUT YALEThe Bulldogs have won five of their last six, with victories over Union, Rensselaer, Brown (2) and an overtime win over Dartmouth before Harvard snapped the streak at five with a 4-1 win in Cambridge on Saturday, Feb. 6. The run of success moved Yale into seventh in the ECAC Hockey standings with 19 points. In addition, the Bulldogs are just one of two teams that can boast a win over No. 4/4 Quinnipiac on the season. Sophomores Mallory Souliotis (4-19–23) and Eden Murray (5-15–20) both have 20-plus points, while senior captain Janelle Ferrara leads the team in goals with 11. In net, junior Hanna Mandl has posted a 3.06 goals-against average and .893 save percentage.

Jess Brown's hat trick propelled the Big Red to a 6-4 win on Jan. 15 in Ithaca. The victory pushed Cornell's unbeaten streak against Yale to 14 games and the Big Red's all-time series advantage to 53-13-1. The Bulldogs haven't beaten the Big Red since Jan. 23, 2009.

ABOUT HEAD COACH DOUG DERRAUGH '91Entering his 11th season directing Cornell women's hockey, Derraugh has brought the program to national prominence. He amassed a 189-112-24 record in his first ten seasons with the Big Red and has led the team to four ECAC Hockey Tournament Championships, four Ivy League Championships and five NCAA tournament appearances, including three trips to the Frozen Four. From 2009-10 to 2013-14, his teams notched five consecutive 20-win seasons for the first time in program history.

Jess Brown has had a knack for scoring goals at the right time this season. Her first goal of the year was the game-tying mark with 17.6 seconds remaining in regulation against Colgate on Nov. 17. She has also netted a pair of hat tricks, each time including the game-winner, in a 4-3 win over St. Lawrence on Dec. 4, and a 6-4 win against Yale on Jan. 15. On Jan. 22, she tallied another game-tying goal in the third period to give Cornell an important 2-2 draw with No. 5/5 Clarkson, and on Jan. 29, she netted two in the first 5:04 to lift the Big Red to a 3-1 win over Union. Cornell is 4-0-2 when Brown scores.
RIGHT OUT OF THE GATECornell has a penchant for scoring early, with nearly half of its goals on the season coming in the first period. The Big Red has outscored all of its opponents, 25-18 ,in the opening frame and its conference foes 16-11. Senior

Kaitlin Doering scored a shorthanded goal in back-to-back games, netting her first career man-down goal on Jan. 9 at Dartmouth before adding another on Jan. 12 at Colgate. The last Cornell women's hockey player to score a shorthanded goal in consecutive games was Rebecca Johnston on Jan. 21 and 22, 2011, both against Colgate.

Micah Hart competed with the Canadian Women's National Development Team this week in the 2016 Nations Cup in Germany. Team Canada defeated Sweden, 2-1, in a shootout on Monday in the first game of the preliminary round. Poudrier, who was serving as one of Canada's assistant captains, assisted on the team's first goal in a 4-2 preliminary-round win over Russia on Tuesday to earn Canada a spot in the gold medal game.

Jess Brown has a pair of hat tricks on the season, scoring three in Cornell's 4-3 win at St. Lawrence on Dec. 4 and in the team's 6-4 win over Yale on Jan. 15. Brown now has three career hat tricks.

Hanna Bunton notched her first career hat trick, part of a four-point outing, in the Big Red's 6-1 rout of Mercyhurst on Nov. 21. The final of her three goals on the afternoon was her eighth of the season, a career high just 10 games into the year.

Poudrier posted two goals and three assists in the tournament while Gerace added two goals, including the game-winner against Boston University, and an assist.
BEATING THE UNBEATENCornell's thrilling 2-1 win over then-No. 10/10 Princeton was the Tigers' first loss of the season, after going 4-0-0 in their first four games. Princeton was the last team in ECAC Hockey to surrender an unbeaten, untied record. In addition, the Tigers have lost just one game since.
