ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell women's polo will open its home schedule when it welcomes Skidmore to Oxley Equestrian Center on Friday, Oct. 20 at 5 p.m., and a number of impressive streaks will be on the line.
The Big Red has won 31 consecutive matches against Skidmore dating back to a 9-8 defeat to the Thoroughbreds on Oct. 28, 2005 and an incredible 62 straight at home going all the way back to a 12-7 defeat in 1980. A year ago, Cornell swept Skidmore in a pair of matchups by a combined score of 54-12.
Cornell won 15 national titles in program history and has advanced to the national title game six of the last seven seasons with championships in 2011, 2015 and 2016. Head coach David Eldredge, in his 33rd season directing the program, sports a 503-144-17 (.770) record. All told, he has a 959-327-25 (.741) mark as a collegiate head coach with both the men's and women's teams.
