Men Cruise To 27-6 Win Over Kentucky

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell men's polo team dominated from the first whistle and cruised to a 27-6 win over Kentucky on Saturday evening at Oxley Equestrian Center. The Big Red improved to 10-2 on the season with the victory.

The Wildcats have a chance to challenge in the Southeast Region and looked to be a quality foe. Dan Shaw, Lorenzo Masias and Ignacio Masias started for the Big Red and put six goals on the board before the Wildcats scored. Cornell eventually led 7-1 after the first chukker. The second saw Cornell explode for 12 goals while shutting out the Wildcats to build a 19-1 halftime lead. For the third chukker, Liam Palacios and Ryan Saul replaced Shaw and Ignacio Masias. Cornell continued to build its lead and ended the third up 24-3. Ignacio returned in the fourth and replaced Lorenzo as the Big Red  cruised home to the win. Lrenzo Masias tallied 14 goals, Ignacio Masias had 10, Saul scored two and both Shaw and Palacios each tallied one.

Cornell will host Roger Williams on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Oxley Equestrian Center.
