ITHACA, N.Y. — The women's tennis team won its fifth consecutive match Wednesday, cruising to five straight-set victories in singles to close out a 6-1 victory against Colgate at Reis Tennis Center.
Cornell (9-4) started off with a doubles sweep, then junior
Priyanka Shah improved to 9-1 in singles with a win at the No. 2 position. She dropped just one game in her match, as did freshman
Ananya Dua from the No. 5 spot.
Juniors
Lizzie Stewart and
Madison Stevens were nearly as efficient in their matches from the middle of the order, with Stevens' victory at the No. 4 spot clinching the match. Cornell is now 15-0 all-time against Colgate (4-7), with this being their first meeting since 2011.
Cornell's final non-league match is at 1 p.m. Sunday against Binghamton (4-11) at Reis Tennis Center. The match is free to attend and open to the public.
