SCHEDULE UPDATED AT 1:00 PM (5/24/18)

ITHACA, N.Y. – Twelve members of the track and field team will head to Tampa, Florida, this week to try and punch their tickets to the NCAA Championships. The NCAA East Preliminary Championships, hosted by USF, will get underway this Thursday at the USF Track and Field Stadium and go through Saturday.
 
Cornell will be represented by 11 athletes on the women's team and one on the men's as they look to place in the top-12 of their respective events and advance to the national championships in Eugene, Oregon, from June 6-9.
 
Day one of competition will feature eight Big Red competitors as Kate Gulbrandsen and Marguerite Lorenzo kick things off with the high jump at 2 p.m. Shannon Hugard, Annie Taylor, Leya Salis and Jackie Katzman will also toe the line on the track at 2 p.m. for the first round of the 1500 meters. Michaela Smith will compete in the shot put at 5:30 p.m. and Erin McLaughlin will close out the day in the 10K at 9:40 p.m.
 
On Friday, Austin Lyons races in the 110 hurdles at 12:30 p.m. and Brittany Stenekes will follow at 1 p.m. in the 100 hurdles. At 8:40 p.m., Briar Brumley and Gabrielle Orie both get at it in the 3000 steeplechase.
 
Saturday will play host to quarterfinal rounds of the 1500, 110 hurdles and 100 hurdles. A full meet schedule can be found here and live results are available through the NCAA. FloTrack will be providing live coverage of the meet for Pro subscribers.
