Cam Donaldson of the Cornell men's hockey team are among the 81 players nominated for the 2019 Hobey Baker Memorial Award, which is issued annually to men's college hockey's top player.
Kaldis is the Big Red's leading scorer among defensemen and a selection to the All-Ivy League first team in his first two seasons on East Hill. Barron, a New York Rangers draft pick, leads the team with 15 points and is currently riding a five-game scoring streak – including multiple points in each of his last three. Donaldson currently has a team-high nine goals and is the reigning men's ECAC Hockey Player of the Week and NCAA Second Star of the Week after scoring three times and adding an assist in last weekend's two-game sweep of Arizona State.

Award criteria include candidates emulating the exceptional character traits exhibited by the award's namesake, Hobey Baker, a World War I flying star better known as America's greatest amateur athlete in his day. Award candidates must demonstrate strength of character both on and off the ice, contribute to the integrity of his team and display outstanding skills in all phases of the game. Consideration should be given to scholastic achievement and sportsmanship.
The 2019 Hobey Baker Memorial Award winner will be announced from a field of three Hobey Hat Trick finalists on Friday, April 12 during the NCAA Frozen Four Championships in Buffalo.
