TOWSON, Md. -- The Cornell gymnastics team posted the highest team score on beam (48.075) and was second on vault (48.475) on its way to a fourth-place finish at the Towson quad meet on Friday evening at SECU Arena. The Big Red posted a season-best 191.725 to finish behind North Carolina State (194.600), William & Mary (192.150) and the host Tigers (191.975).
Malia Mackey took fifth on vault with a 9.750 to lead the Big Red as Cornell finished behind only the Wolfpack with a team score of 48.475.
Miranda Lund (third, 9.750) led the way on beam, while
Samantha Henry took third on floor (9.825).
Kelsy Kurfirst posted a 9.750 to lead off bars, good for ninth overall.
Cornell will kick off its home schedule when it welcomes SUNY Cortland to Teagle Gymnasium on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 1 p.m.
