Women's Squash Hits The Road To Take On GW, F&M

ITHACA, N.Y. – The women's squash team hits the road for its last two non-league matches of the regular season, first visiting George Washington at 6 p.m. Friday in Washington before taking on Franklin & Marshall at 4 p.m. Saturday in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The match against the Diplomats will also be streamed by F&M through Stretch Internet.

Cornell (1-7), which continues to inhabit the No. 12 spot in the Dunlop College Squash Rankings, has come close to ending its skid in recent weeks, but it came up on the wrong end of 5-4 decision against #9 Dartmouth on Jan. 13 and #8 Drexel last Friday. Those results bookend a 9-0 loss to third-ranked Trinity last Wednesday.

Two newcomers continue to have success, with freshman Steph Tan leading the team with a 5-3 record from primarily the No. 9 position, and Lily Zelov holding a 4-4 record from the top two spots. Junior Madison Miles and sophomore Mimi deLisser have three victories apiece.

George Washington (2-7) was ranked 13th heading into its Wednesday match against Virginia, but figures to slip a bit in this week's update after a 6-3 loss to 15th-ranked Williams on Sunday. The strength of the Colonials' lineup has been toward the top of the order, with Zoe Foo Yuk Han and Engy Elmandouh holding 5-4 records from the Nos. 1 and 2 positions, respectively. The Big Red has never lost to the Colonials in six all-time meetings, including a 7-2 decision last year at Williams.

Franklin & Marshall is ranked 20th with a 4-4 record entering its busy four-match home weekend. Before taking on the Big Red, the Diplomats host Colby on Friday and Virginina on Saturday morning. Pratiksha Mishra has a team-best 6-2 record from primarily the No. 6 spot, and Emily Bartos and Katherine Galambos are each 5-3 while sharing the Nos. 3 and 4 positions. The Big Red has won its last 13 matches against F&M, including a 9-0 sweep last year in a neutral-site meeting at Middlebury.
