Polo Sweeps Regional Rival Skidmore at Oxley

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell men's and women's polo teams both earned victories over regional foe Skidmore this past weekend at Oxley Equestrian Center. The men earned a 30-4 triumph on Friday night, while the women claimed a 22-3 triumph on Saturday.

Lorenzo Masias netted 13 points, including three two-pointers, in a game that the Big Red led wire-to-wire. The home team led 8-2 after the first chukker and was up 15-2 at the half. An 11-0 third chukker run put the game away to improve Cornell to 10-2, including 3-0 since head coach Branden Van Loon took over the program.

The women moved to 10-5 overall and snapped a two-game skid behind 12 goals from Shariah Harris. Along with starters Rachel Booth and Anna Ullman, Cornell led 6-1 after on and 14-2 at the half. The Big Red outscored the Thoroughbreds 8-1 after halftime to ride off with the victory.
