ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cornell equestrian team will compete in its final shows of the fall when it partakes in a double-header at Nazareth on Saturday, Nov. 20 at 9:00 a.m. and Sunday, Nov. 21 at 8:30 a.m. in Rochester, N.Y.
The Big Red has experienced great success so far this fall, earning the title of High Point Team in three of the four shows in which it has competed. Cornell opened up the 2021-22 season with three-consecutive team victories, winning both shows at RIT on Oct. 16 and Oct. 17 and emerging victorious at its first home show on Oct. 24.
Cornell was named the Reserve High Point Team in its most recent show on Nov. 7 at the Oxley Equestrian Center in Ithaca, N.Y. That day, the Big Red captured five individual event wins and posted 10 top-three finishes. Senior Hannah Braun highlighted the winners on the day, finishing first in her pre-novice class for the third-straight show to point out of the division into novice.
Braun is just one of four Big Red riders who have pointed into a higher division this fall. Senior co-captain Talia Aley pointed out of pre-novice and into novice following the first show at RIT on Oct. 16. Junior Katherine Philipp pointed out of limit flat and into intermediate flat after Cornell's home show on Oct. 24. Finally, most recently, senior Indigo Pavlov pointed out of novice and into limit flat and limit fences after the Big Red's show on Nov. 7, as did Braun.
