Equestrian Places Fifth at Michigan, Pecsok Wins Event

Plymouth, Mich. -- The Cornell equestrian team placed fifth overall at the Tournament of Champions, hosted by Michigan. The Cornell performance was highlighted by junior Emily Pecsok, who placed first in her event, Novice.

Senior Claudia Arredondo had a promising first show of the season. She placed fourth in Introductory, the second highest place on the team along with junior Taylor Haines who tallied fourth in Limit Flat.

Cornell wrapped up sixth place in three events. Senior Katie Philipp grabbed sixth in both of her performances, the Limit Fences and Intermediate Flat. Senior captain Alexandra Miranda rounded out the Big Red placings with a sixth place finish in Intermediate Fences and, after advancing to the low medal division, secured eighth place in over fences.

The Big Red next travel to RIT for a doubleheader on October 15 and 16 in Rochester, N.Y.
