ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Cornell women's equestrian team earned the high point title for a fourth time this season in day one of the Nazareth show. The Big Red also earned High Point Rider in both days.
Saturday saw seven first place finishes for the Red.
Lauren Benson, a Cornell rookie, earned first in the Introductory class to open the day.
Claudia Arredondo pointed out in the same ride for her first point-out of her career. In the Limit flats,
Taylor Haines and Rookie
Clara Beck each tallied first.
Emma Basher secured the blue ribbon in the Limit fences, while
Riley Gerardo and
Alexandra Miranda claimed first in the Intermediate fences, with Miranda pointing out.
Bianca Garcia swept the Open class to round out the day. Garcia and Gerardo went into a ride-off for High Point Rider, with Garcia ultimately taking home the honor.
Sunday saw seven more first place finishes,
Mikayla Lin tallied first in Pre-Novice ride and pointed out to Novice.
Emily Pecsok and
Natalie Morris each earned first in the Novice class, with Pecsok pointing out.
Jillian Steinmetz finished top of the podium in the Limit flats.
Caly Stewart and
Taylor Haines each placed first in the Limit fences, while Haines pointed out to Intermediate.
Nina Davis finished first in the Intermediate fences, and Miranda wrapped up the show with a fist place finish in the Open fences. Day two concluded with a question-off Stewart and Haines, with Stewart winning to earn the High Point Rider title.
