PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Cornell men's swimming and diving team posted nine additions to the top 10 all-time lists in school history as the Big Red remained in seventh place after day three of the Ivy League Championships on Friday evening at DeNunzio Pool.
Jake Lawson was the team's top finisher in the 1,000 free with a 9:09.11, good for 13th at the meet and the third-best time in school history. He finished three spots ahead of freshman
Vlad Gilszmer, who shaved more than 26 seconds off his season best time with a 9:15.87 to clock in with the eighth-best time by a Cornellian.
Jack Valiquette took 13th in the 400 IM, with his best time of 3:53.04 good for fourth all-time at Cornell.
Ricardo Martinez finished 23rd to score points for the Big Red, touching in a time of 3:57.14
Cornell had swimmers take second and third in the B final of the 100 butterfly, with
Joseph Gurski (10th, 47.49) just holding off teammate
Jeremy Marcin (11th, 47.69). Gurski's time was behind only record holder Jack Mahoney (47.11) and Big Red head coach Wes Newman (47.22) on the school's all-time charts.
Alan Li also scored, finishing 19th overall in 48.77 - a season-best time.
In the 200 free,
Jack Banks made the B final and took 13th, touching the wall in 1:38.30. That time slotted him fifth on the Big Red's all-time charts. Sixth? That's
Dominic Edwards in 19th place with a finals time of 1:38.54.
Jacob Bass just missed the A finals in the 200 breast, with his 54.15 good for ninth in the prelims and the No. 4 time in Cornell history. He was joined in the B final by
Jack Casey (16th, 54.81) and
Sebastian Wolff (15th, 54.84), the Big Red's top finisher in the finals in 11th place with a career-best time of 54.69 - seventh all-time at Cornell.

Paige daCosta took ninth overall in the 100 back in a season-best time of 48.14, with
Logan Holt not far behind in 12th with a 48.56. Holt closes his campaign in the 100 back with the school's seventh-best time in school history. Also scoring was Will Tanner in 23rd with a best time of 49.63.
Friday's evening session concluded with the 400 medley relay taking seventh in a time of 3:14.97. daCosta swam the leadoff backstroke with Bass, Gurski and Wolff following. The 46 points accumulated pushed the Big Red's total to 385 points over the first three days.
Day four, the final sessions of the championship, begin at 11 a.m. with prelims with a 6 p.m. session for finals.
