Sailing Continues Team Race Season In Maryland, Massachusetts

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell sailing team will close out March with a pair of competitions as it attempts to build on last weekend's top five finishes when it competes at the Seahawk Women's Team Race and in the Duplin Women's Tean Race. The Big Red will send split squads to St. Mary's City, Md. and Medford, Mass. over Saturday and Sunday, March 26-27.

Cornell will have its shot at No. 1 Yale among three top 10 teams and eight opponents in the top 20 at the Seahawk Women's Team Race. The Big Red will compete in the 12-team regatta along with No. 7 Boston College, Charleston, Fordham, No. 11 Georgetown, No. 16 George Washington, Hobart & William Smith, No. 13 13 MIT, No. 18 St. Mary's, No. 19 Tufts, No. 9 Tulane and No. 1 Yale.

In addition to its regatta in Maryland, the Big Red will also travel to Massachusetts to compete for the Duplin Trophy at Tufts. It will be Cornell's first appearance in the event.

The Big Red took fifth at the high-powered St. Mary's College Women's Fleet Race and earned a winning record at the Washington College Team Race this past weekend, bring the top of top five regatta finishes to 15 this academic year, including four straight.
