STORY LINES

• The Cornell women's lacrosse team will attempt to secure a spot in the Ivy League Tournament for the ninth time in 11 seasons when it hosts Dartmouth on Saturday, April 30 at 1 p.m. at Schoellkopf Field.
• The contest will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with Andy Malnoske on the call.
• A win would put the Big Red as the tournament's No. 3 (with a Harvard win over Brown) or No. 4 seed (with a Brown win over Harvard).
• Cornell would also still be alive with a loss and a Brown win over Harvard, or a Crimson win coupled with a Penn victory over Columbia.
• The Big Red will attempt to clinch its 17th winning Ivy record in the last 21 seasons after posting zero in the program's first 20 seasons with a win over the Big Green.
• Cornell will be attempting to snap a three-game skid when it meets the Big Green on Senior Day.
Amanda Cramer (28-7-36), Genevieve DeWinter (28-5-34), and Katie Castiello (21-9-31) lead 10 players that have reached double figures in scoring this season for a balanced, but explosive, offense averaging 13.57 goals per game and reaching double digits in 11 contests.
• Senior goalkeeper Katie McGahan (7-7, 12.22 GAA, .455 save percentage) is averaging 9.07 saves per game.
Hilary Hoover and Olivia Wall have combined to cause 23 turnovers with 36 ground balls as defensive stalwarts.

SERIES HISTORY VS. DARTMOUTH

Overall: Dartmouth leads 33-9, first meeting in 1980
In Ithaca, N.Y.: Dartmouth leads 14-6
Current Streak: Dartmouth, 2
Last Meeting: Dartmouth, 15-8 (4/20/2019 in Hanover, N.H.)
Graap vs. Dartmouth: 6-18 (5-6 at home)
Series Notes: The two teams first met in 1980 with Dartmouth holding a 33-9 all-time advantage • the Big Green ended Cornell's two-game win streak in the series (2016-17), its longest in school history against the Big Green, with consecutive wins in 2018 and 2019 • six contests since 2010 have been decided by two goals or less.

A WIN OVER DARTMOUTH WOULD

• make Cornell 8-7 on the season.
• qualify Cornell for the Ivy League Tournament for the ninth time in 11 all-time events.
• improve the Big Red's Ivy record to 4-3.
• cut the Big Green's lead in the all-time series to 33-10.
• be the 361st in program history (360-309-4 in 50 seasons, .539).

LAST TIME OUT

Katie Castiello and Genevieve DeWinter combined to score all six second half goals for the Big Red, but Brown was able to weather the storm to pick up a 12-11 win at Stevenson-Pincince Field.
• The home team celebrated Senior Day with three straight goals in the game's first 3:05 and never trailed, though Cornell did even the score at 10-10 in the fourth quarter.
• Brown tallied twice in the span of 48 seconds to regain a two-goal lead and Cornell couldn't get all the way back.
Hilary Hoover posted three draw controls, two ground balls and two caused turnovers, while DeWinter posted a team-best four ground ball wins to go along with a three-goal hat trick.
Katie McGahan had seven saves in goal for the Big Red, including several key ones in the fourth quarter as Cornell attempted to rally.
• Two of them came in the final four minutes and three were in the fourth quarter.
• Sophia DeRosa had four goals and Mia Mascone was credited with four assists along with an assist to lead Brown, which defeated Cornell for just the second time since 2000 - both times by a single goal in Providence.
• Maggie Fowler had three goals and two assists and Claire Jeschke posted three goals and an assist in the victory.

MISCELLANEOUS NOTES

• Graduate student Katie McGahan enters the weekend with 416 saves, good for third all-time at Cornell.
• McGahan is also third in career wins (25).
• In its past 11 games, Cornell has posted three of the top 10 single-game totals for draw controls — the 22 at UConn ranks No. 1 all-time, while the 21 at Princeton is No. 2, and 19 vs. Columbia sits ninth.
• Junior Annie Thomas has a cousin, Caroline Ramsey, who is an All-Ivy field hockey player for the Big Red and a member of the U.S. junior national team.
• In just 19 career games, Thomas has 109 draw controls — a mark that already ranks sixth in school history.
• Thomas has 71 draw controls in 14 games in 2022 to set the single-season school record, surpassing Sarah Hefner's 2014 record of 68.
• With 10 more goals, the Big Red will post its sixth season with 200 goals.
• Currently at 13.57 goals per game, the Big Red is challenging the current school record (14.2 in 2012).
• Senior Gillis Frechette is also member of the Big Red women's hockey team and joined the squad at the conclusion of the winter season.
• Senior Ashleigh Gundy was named the inaugural recipient of the IWCLA's Tina Sloan Green Award that recognizes teams or individuals working to promote equity and inclusion. Following the murder of George Floyd, Gundy created a documentary titled "Where Do We Go From Here?" featuring athletes from Cornell, Brown, Yale, Michigan, George Washington, and Colgate who candidly discussed their experiences as black student-athletes, the intersection of race and sport, and the systematic flaws embedded in the criminal justice system. The film also features Khalil Muhammad, a Harvard Professor of History, Race, and Public Policy, who helped viewers explore the intersection of race and criminal justice in modern US history.
• The Big Red has qualified for the Ivy League Tournament eight times in the 10 years it has been held.

NEXT UP

• If the Big Red qualifies for the 2022 Ivy League Tournament, it would play at the site of the highest seed with the semifinals being held on Friday, May 6.
• If the Big Red does not compete in the Ivy League Tournament, it will hit the field in February 2023 eyeing the third conference championship in school history.
