Pair of Heavyweight Rowing Boats Compete at Head of the Charles

BOSTON — The Cornell men's heavyweight rowing team had two boats compete in the Men's Championship Fours on Sunday afternoon in the Head of the Charles Regatta on the Charles River.

Cornell's 'A' boat had the best finish of the day, placing fourth after posting a time of 16:49.531. Fellow Ivy League opponents Princeton (16:33.467) and Penn (16:47.600), along with Georgetown (16:47.987), were those who finished ahead of the Big Red's top entry.

The other Cornell boat initially finished in ninth place with a time of 17:06.127, but a one-minute safety violation penalty was assessed resulting in the team falling three places in the standings.

A LOOK UPSTREAM
Cornell will return to the water on Saturday, Oct. 28, when it hosts the Cornell Fall Classic at the Cornell Rowing Center.
