ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell sailing hits the road to two away regattas coming off of a historic weekend for the program. The team will split, heading to the Coed ACC Semifinals in Cambridge, Mass. and Stu Nelson Women's regatta in New London, Conn. Both regattas span two days, from Saturday, October 7 through Sunday, October 8.
The Open ACC Semifinals will be one of largest regattas Cornell has attended so far the season. The Big Red will go head-to-head against 17 other teams. Each team will field one boat in both the A Division and the B Division. The opponents for the Open ACC Semifinals are Boston University, Bowdoin, Brown, Charleston, Dartmouth, Hobart & William Smith, MIT, N.C. State, Maritime, St. Mary's, Tufts, UC Santa Barbara, Michigan, Penn, South Florida, Webb Institute, and Yale.
The Stu Nelson Regatta, hosted by Connecticut College, will host three divisions across both days, with races taking to the water in the Z420 boats.
The Big Red earned a spot in next week's ACC Finals following a program-best second-place finish in the Women's ACC semifinals last weekend. Those not competing in the finals will race for the David Lee Arnoff Trophy in Geneva, N.Y. on Saturday, October 14 through Sunday, October 15.
