ALFRED, N.Y. -- Cornell equestrian wrapped up third place in it spring season opener at Alfred. The Big Red shined in the Limit Fences, earning three blue ribbons.
Lauren Benson earned third place in the Introductory class. In Novice,
Caroline Gaudet and
Natalie Ferguson placed first and third, respectively. The Limit Flats saw a third place finish by
Annalisa Piscitelli and a fourth place finish by
Emily Pecsok. The Big Red stormed to take away three first place finishes in the Limit Fences.
Gillian Roche,
Jianna Simcik, and
Emma Basher all finished atop the podium.
Taylor Haines also competed in the Limit Fences and placed fifth. On the intermediate flats,
Katherine Philipp took second,
Alexandra Miranda took fourth, and
Taylor Haines posted a fifth place finish.
Riley Gerardo placed first in the Intermediate Fences, followed by
Nina Davis in third. The Open Flats saw two Big Red finishes in
Posie Price (5th) and
Bianca Garcia (6th). The Open Fences was won by Miranda, and Price placed third.
The Big Red will get a second chance to take down Alfred when they face off again this weekend on Satuday, February 25.
