3/2/2023 11:00:00 AM

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell equestrian team are coming off an exciting win last weekend at Alfred University where they secured high point for the fifth time this season. The week prior, Cornell took home third highest point, also at Alfred.

This weekend is Regionals, and the Big Red had nine riders qualify in seven different categories. Claudia Arredondo will represent Cornell in the Introductory Hunter Seat. Emily Pecsok and Annalisa Piscitelli will ride for Cornell in the Novice Hunter Seat. In the Limit Hunter Seat on the Flat, we'll see Alexandra Miranda and Taylor Haines represent the Big Red. Katherine Philipp will compete in a back-to-back double header, first in the Limit Hunter Seat over Fences and then immediately followed by the Intermediate Hunter Seat on the Flat where she will be accompanied by Biance Garcia. Philipps took second in that event last week at Alfred University. Bianca Garcia will then move onto the Intermediate Hunter Seat over Fences alongside Alexandra Miranda and Isabel Hall. The final event that will see a Cornell athlete is the Open Hunter Seat over fences, where Posie Price will ride for the Big Red. Price took home a fourth-place finish in this event last week.

Individual riders that qualified for Regionals will have the opportunity to qualify for Zones if they take home either a first or second place finish in any of their events this weekend.
