STORY LINES

• The Cornell women's lacrosse team knows what's at stake when it closes out the regular season against Brown on Saturday, April 29 at 3:30 p.m. at Schoellkopf Field.
• Not only will the Big Red attempt to send its six seniors out with a victory, but a win could put Cornell into the Ivy League Tournament at league champion Penn, while a loss will end its season (stay tuned for the numerous scenarios that could have Cornell anywhere from the No. 2 seed to out of the tourney with a win over Brown).
• The contest will be broadcast on ESPN+ as the second game of a doubleheader that kicks off with a noon contest for the Ivy title between the BIg Red men's lacrosse team and rival Princeton.
• Cornell snapped a five-game skid this past Saturday with an impressive 14-12 road win over No. 19 Yale.
• Picked fourth in the Ivy League's preseason media poll, Cornell returns eight starters and 18 letter winners from last season's 8-8 squad.
• Cornell went 4-3 in Ivy play last spring, making its ninth appearance in 11 all-time (including eight of the past nine) Ivy League Tournaments as the No. 3 seed.
• Four senior All-Ivy selections return in 2023, with Katie Castiello and Amanda Cramer on attack, Annie Thomas in the midfield and Hilary Hoover on defense.

SERIES HISTORY VS. BROWN

Overall: Cornell leads 25-16, first meeting in 1980
In Ithaca, N.Y.: Cornell leads 13-6
Current Streak: Brown, 1
Last Meeting: Brown, 12-11 (4/23/2022 in Providence, R.I.)
Graap vs. Brown: 19-4 (10-1 at home)
Series Notes: Cornell holds a narrow 25-16 edge thanks in large part to an 18-game win streak from 2000-17 • the Big Red is 10-1 against the Bears at Schoellkopf Field under head coach Jenny Graap • the Bears' only wins over the Big Red this century were single-goal contests in Providence, R.I. in 2018 (14-13) and 2022 (12-11).

A WIN OVER BROWN WOULD

• end Cornell's regular season at 8-7 (4-3 Ivy League).
• give Cornell a two-game win streak to close out the regular season.
• send Cornell's seniors out with a win in their final home contest.
• extend the Big Red's lead in the all-time series to 26-16.
• be head coach Jenny Graap's 249th as a head coach.
• be the 370th in program history (369-317-4 in 51 seasons, .538).

LAST TIME OUT

Kylie Gelabert's goal with just under two minutes remaining snapped a tie and the Cornell women's lacrosse team moved into a tie for third place in the Ancient Eight standings with a 14-12 win at No. 19 Yale at Reese Stadium.
• Gelabert's goal, her first of the day, allowed Cornell to hang on after Yale knotted the game at 8-8 and 12-12 after the visitors jumped out to an early 6-1 lead.
• After the go-ahead score with 1:55 to play, Cornell won the draw and killed off nearly 90 seconds before Shannon Brazier put up an insurance goal to clinch the win.
Amanda Cramer had three goals and an assist to lead the Big Red offense, while both Caitlin Slaminko (three goals) and Maggie Pons (two goals, one assist) also had three-point afternoons.
Annie Thomas won five draw controls, Slaminko added four draws to her hat trick, while Cramer had three draw wins.
• As a team, the Big Red held a slim 16-15 lead at the draw circle.

• Sky Carrasquillo led Yale with five goals and an assist with Fallon Vaughn adding three goals and two assists.
