Women's Lacrosse Welcomes Newcomers For the 2025 Season

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cornell women's lacrosse team welcomes nine freshmen and one transfer for the upcoming 2025 season. The group consist of two attackers, seven midfielders and one goalkeeper.

Jenny Graap, The Karin Bain Kukral '82 Head Coach of Women's Lacrosse is getting the team prepped and ready for the season and look to make a run all the way to the Ivy League tournament. "We are very excited about the ten newcomers who have joined our Big Red program this year. Each player was recruited to make an impact, and this class of scholar-athletes is impressively strong. Collectively, their competitive drive and intensity has raised the level at our fall practices, and my assistants and I can't wait to see how this dynamic group shapes our Cornell team in 2025," Graap said.

#39 Kathleen Michaud

A • 5-5 • Lakewood, Colo. (Kent Denver School)

Kathleen joins the Big Red from the University of California, Berkeley... on her high school team she served as team caption and totaled 159 points on 132 goals and 27 assists, while adding 129 draw controls over three seasons for teams that had winning seasons and reached the quarterfinals of the state playoffs in each campaign... Earned Adrenaline All-American, second-team All-State, first-team All-5A West League and team Offensive MVP honors ... Picked up first-team All-State and All-5A West League, as well as team Offensive MVP honors in 2022... she also competed on the field hockey and basketball team... played for 3d Lacrosse for six years...was a member of the 2021-22 New Balance National Team... volunteered on the Denver City Lax Leadership Board to plan and organize fundraising events and provide greater opportunity for inner city youth to play lacrosse.

#2 Dylan Agron

M • 5-4 • Denver, Colo. (Kent Denver School)
Agron played four years of high school lacrosse at Kent Denver School where she earned second-team All-League Honors in 2024 and 2023 as well as an All-League Honorable Mention... she was also a member of the field hockey team where she earned multiple honors including League Co Player of the year in 2024... she competed on the Team 180 club lacrosse club. 

#10 Lexie Tully

A • 5-8 • New Canaan, Conn. (New Canaan High School)

Tully served as captain her senior year after leading her team to two Connecticut state titles, three league titles, and a No.5 national ranking... she was named MVP of the 2024 state championship game... earned All-American Honors in 2023 and 2024...earned first-team All-State as well as All-County honors in 2022, 2023, and 2024... was a member of the ice hockey team... member of the National Honor Society... competed with the CT Grizzlies where they earned the title of American Select Champions in 2021 and 2022 and was named to the American Select second team all-tournament in 2022.

#12 Lilly Whaling

M • 5-7 • Rye N.Y. (Rye High School)

Whaling served as caption on her high school team for two years... she was the leading scorer... she is a two-time US Lacrosse All American... was named Lohud Putnam/ Westchester County Player of the Year... earned All-Section and All-League honors four times... she was also caption of the field hockey team... was a member of the National Honor Society... competed on the Predator Lacrosse club team.

#18 Sofia Ciaglo

M • 5-6 • Hadley, Mass. (Longmeadow High School)

After four years of play, Ciaglo earned All American Honors in 2024 as a midfielder... named to first team All Western Massachusetts three consecutive years (2022, 2023, 2024)... was named 2022 Hampshire County Gazette Player of the year... lead her team to win 2023 Western Massachusetts Championships... 2024 Mass Live Super Seven Selection... competed on her high school soccer and basketball team... was a member of the Mass Elite club lacrosse team.

#25 Holly Newman

M • 5-4 • Manhasset, N.Y. (Manhasset High School)

Four-year member of the Manhasset HS lacrosse team... 2022 New York State Champions... two-time All-County Champion (2021,2023) ... named Nassau Academic All American in 2024... earned All-County in 2023 and 2024... earned All-County Honorable Mention in 2022… she played on the Long Island Yellow Jackets club team.

#27 Harper Friedholm

M • 5-6 • Sudbury, Mass. (Lincoln-Sudbury Regional School)

Served as a caption for her high school team for two years leading them to the 2023 MIAA Division 1 State Championship title... earned two-time USA All-American honors... also named 2024 USA All-Academic, 2024 EMGLA first team, 2023 EMGLA second team, 2024 Dual County League MVP... was also a member of the ice hockey and volleyball team... competed on Laxachusetts club team.

#28 Mason Mantey

M • 5-9 • Alexandria, Va. (St. Stephen's and St. Anges School)

Was named Senior Captain for 2024 season... earned All American honors in 2023 and 2024... earned All-League in 2023 and 2024... was All-State first team in 2023 and 2024... named All-Met in 2023 and 2024... named Alexandria Sportsman's Club Lacrosse player of the year 2024 overall outstanding female athlete for high school's class of 2024... SSSAS most outstanding women's lacrosse athlete for 2023 and 2024... was two-year captain of the tennis team… she played on the Capital Lacrosse Club.

#38 Lily Mullen

M • 5-7 • Edgewater, Md. (South River High School)

Served as caption of her high school lacrosse team for three years... earned first team All-County in 2022 and received an Honorable Mention in 2024... also competed on the field hockey and basketball team... was a member of the National Honor Society, One Love Club, Student Government and received C. Kelly Markland Award… she played on the Integrity Club team.

#55 Angelia Oechsle

GK • 5-6 • West Henrietta, N.Y. (Rush-Henrietta)

Was a goalie for Rush-Henrietta for four years... during her senior year earned Academic All American and Senior All Star... three-time first team All-County... named All-Greater Rochester Honorable Mention... 2022 New York State Semifinalist... earned All-League second-team in 2021... member of the school volleyball team... member of National Honors Society and Foreign Language National Honors Society... earned Rush Henrietta Leadership Award, Rush Henrietta Principal Award and Warner Kleemen Award... competed on Monster Elite Lacrosse where she earned USA Lacrosse National 15U Champions, Mid Atlantic Summer Club Champions and Lax for The Cure Champions.

Cornell will host two scrimmage matches on Sunday Oct. 6 against Syracuse and Canisius starting at 1 p.m.
