ITHACA, N.Y. -- After a three-regatta weekend, the Big Red has just one event on the docket, taking on the Open ACC Final this week in Chestnut Hill, Mass. The regatta, hosted by Boston College, is set for Saturday, October 19 through Sunday, October 20. 2024 marks the second straight season the Big Red earned a bid to the Open ACC Finals.
The Big Red will take on 18 teams, with each program fielding a boat in an A and a B Division. There will be 18 races per division. Cornell will compete against Boston College, Bowdoin, Brown, Charleston, Dartmouth, Georgetown, Harvard, Roger Williams, St. Mary's, Stanford, Tufts, Tulane, Coast Guard, Navy, Miami, Rhode Island, and Yale.
Earlier this week, Cornell earned two spots in the ICSA Single-Handed Nationals when freshman
Gilda Dondona was named an automatic qualifier and sophomore
Pilar Cundey received an at-large bid. They will compete in Jersey City, N.J. on November 9 and 10.
Next weekend, Cornell will travel to Old Dominion and St. Mary's to take on the MAISA Women's Fall Dinghy and the War Memorial regattas, respectively.
