#7 Big Red Welcomes RIT To Town For Tuesday Night Action

ITHACA, N.Y. - The No. 7-ranked Cornell women's ice hockey team will host the Rochester Institute of Technology Tigers on Tuesday night at Lynah Rink. The Big Red and the Tigers will meet for the first time since 1995.

Quinnipiac/Princeton Recap
Quinnipiac: 

The Cornell women's ice hockey team played to a 3-3 tie against the no. 7-ranked Quinnipiac Bobcats on Friday night at M&T Bank Arena. Both teams keep their six-game unbeaten streaks, as the Big Red moved to 6-3-2 and the Bobcats became 11-3-2.

Alyssa RegaladoRory Guilday, and Avi Adam registered Big Red goals in the game. Gabbie Rud collected three assists, and Mckenna Van Gelder dealt one. Piper Grober and Karel Prefontaine scored during the shootout period.

Princeton:
The Cornell women's ice hockey team defeated the Princeton Tigers 4-3 on Saturday afternoon at Hobey Baker Memorial Rink. The Big Red improved to 7-3-2 and extended it's unbeaten streak to seven, while the Tigers dropped to 5-5-0 on the season.

Lily DelianedisKarel PrefontaineClaudia Yu, and Avi Adam registered Big Red goals in the contest. Katie ChanDelaney FlemingBeatrice Perron-RoyAlyssa Regalado (two), Prefontaine, and Ashley Messier were credited with helpers.

Big Red Players To Watch
Annelies Bergmann has been strong in net this season, saving 285 shots. Bergmann has held opponents scoreless in five games, coming in a tie versus Mercyhurst and four shutout victories against Penn State, RPI, Dartmouth and Yale.

Lindzi Avar holds the hot-stick for Cornell, as she is tied for the lead in goals with six on the season. Avar has claimed ECAC Hockey Rookie of The Week honors on two occasions. Her first-career hat-trick came in a 7-0 trouncing of the RPI Engineers. She also potted a pair of tallies in a 4-0 win against Ivy League foe Dartmouth.

Avi Adam has been a reliable goal-scorer for Cornell, as she is tied for the lead with six. Her three assists on the year pushes her point-total to nine which is also tied for the team-high. 

Captain and defense-woman Ashley Messier has been a catalyst for the Big Red so far this season. She currently leads the team in assists, registering eight points on eight assists. Messier's impact on the defensive end is felt, as she has 15 blocked shots on the year to pair with a +6.

Puck drop between the Big Red and the Tigers is slated for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at M&T Bank Arena. Game action will be broadcast on ESPN+.
