CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Calm waters and a lack of wind delayed day two for over three hours at the Eastern Women's National Semi-Final, but Cornell sailing stayed the course, closing out a combined second-place finish to advance to the Women's Fleet Racing National Finals. The gap between second and the third-place Brown Bears only grew on the second day, with the Big Red finishing 29 points ahead of the Bears.

In the A Division, junior Bridget Green skipped while junior Amelia Neumann and sophomore Sophia Mulvania split time as crew. Freshman Winborne Majette jumped in on Day two as the skipper to replace Green, and rookie Kate Moran jumped in for the final race of the day. Collectively, the quintet finished second in the division.

In the B Division, sophomore Sophia Devling skippered all 16 races while freshman Kit Harned crewed the first six races, sophomore Sophia Pearce crewed races 7-14, and Neumann jumped in on the final two. The group wrapped up a seventh-place finish in its division.

The top nine collective scores advanced to the Women's Fleet National Finals and will join the top nine finishers from the western bracket as the teams vie for a chance at the 2024 Women's Fleet National title. Action begins tomorrow, May 22, and will continue through Thursday, May 23. The Big Red aims to build on its fourth-place finish in last year's final, the program's best mark to date.
