ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell sailing team will attempt to qualify for team race nationals when it heads to Georgetown to compete in the MAISA Women's Team Race Championships beginning on Saturday, April 11. The race will be one of two this weekend featuring the Big Red, with members of the squad also hitting the water for Navy's Truxtun Umstead Open Fleet Race.

Cornell will be in search of its fourth consecutive MAISA Team Race Championship and fifth since 2019 when it hits the water against eight of the top teams in the country. The Big Red has already claimed a conference singlehanded title in the fall and spring fleet race crown two weekends ago on the same course Cornell will line up at on Saturday.

Additionally, the Big Red will race at Truxtun Umstead this weekend in Annapolis, Md. Cornell will be one of 18 teams competing at the event. A year ago, Cornell finished 14th among 17 teams at the race.
