#6 Big Red Turns Sights To Ivy Foe #14 Princeton, #10 Quinnipiac

ITHACA, N.Y. -  The no. 6-ranked Cornell women's ice hockey team gets set for an ECAC Hockey weekend series against Ivy foe no. 14 Princeton and no. 10 Quinnipiac at Lynah Rink.

Rewind vs Syracuse
The no. 6-ranked Cornell women's ice hockey team defeated the Syracuse Orange 6-3 on Tuesday afternoon at Tennity Ice Pavilion. The Big Red improved to 12-4-3, while the Orange dropped to 7-17-0.

Gabbie RudKarel PrefontaineLindzi AvarDelaney FlemingGrace Dwyer, and Kaitlin Jockims registered Big Red goals in the game. Avi Adam (two), Dwyer, Alyssa Regalado, Prefontaine (two), and Lily Delianedis were credited with helpers in the contest. Jeanne Lortie made her first career start. In relief, Annelies Bergmann collected 11 saves on the night.

Last Time Out vs Princeton/Quinnipiac
vs Princeton:
The Cornell women's ice hockey team defeated the Princeton Tigers 4-3 on Saturday afternoon at Hobey Baker Memorial Rink.

Lily DelianedisKarel PrefontaineClaudia Yu, and Avi Adam registered Big Red goals in the contest. Katie ChanDelaney FlemingBeatrice Perron-RoyAlyssa Regalado (two), Prefontaine, and Ashley Messier were credited with helpers.

vs Quinnipiac
The Cornell women's ice hockey team played to a 3-3 tie against the no. 7-ranked Quinnipiac Bobcats on Friday night at M&T Bank Arena.

Alyssa RegaladoRory Guilday, and Avi Adam registered Big Red goals in the game. Gabbie Rud collected three assists, and Mckenna Van Gelder dealt one. Piper Grober and Karel Prefontaine scored during the shootout period. 

Big Red Players To Watch
Annelies Bergmann has been strong in net this season, saving 422 shots (.934). Bergmann has held opponents scoreless in five games, coming in a tie versus Mercyhurst and four shutout victories against Penn State, RPI, Dartmouth and Yale.

Avi Adam has been a reliable playmaker  for Cornell, as she is tied for the team lead with 7. Her nine assists on the year pushes her point-total to 16 which leads the team.

Captain and defense-woman Ashley Messier has been a catalyst for the Big Red so far this season. She currently leads the team in assists, with 10, to go along with three goals. Messier's impact on the defensive end is felt, as she has 24 blocked shots on the year to pair with a +8.

Puck drop between the Big Red and the Tigers is slated for 6:00 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 17 at Lynah Rink. The contest between Cornell and Quinnipiac is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Saturday Dec. 18 at Lynah Rink. Both games will be broadcast on ESPN+.
