Sailing Eyes ACC Finals Return, Makes First Oyster Bowl Appearance

| By:
ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell sailing team will continue fall championship season when it heads to Yale for the Open ACC Semifinals next weekend, while sending sailors to St. Mary's (Md.) for its first appearance at the Oyster Bowl. The two-day regattas will commence on Saturday, Oct. 4.

The open regatta will see the top nine squads in the final standings qualify for the ACC finals beginning on Oct. 18 at St. Mary's (Md.). Cornell did just that a year ago, placing fourth in the semifinals before placing 14th at the open finals. It will be the program's first appearance at the Oyster Bowl.

The Big Red turned in a standout performance at the Women's Atlantic Coast Championship Round 1B this past weekend, placing second overall to earn a spot in the ACC Finals. The Big Red also competed at the Moody Trophy in Rhode Island, finishing 13th overall in a competitive field.
