ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell sailing team returns to its early fall championship competition when it heads to Navy to compete in the ACC semifinals beginning on Saturday, Sept. 27. A separate group of sailors will also head to Rhode Island to compete for the Moody Trophy.
Cornell won the ACC semifinals a year ago for the first time ever, eventually finishing fourth in the finals - one off its best-ever finish at that regatta. A top-half finish in the semis will advance Cornell to the finals on Oct. 11 at MIT.
The Big Red will compete at the Moody Trophy regatta for the first time since 2018, when it placed seventh.
The sailing team spent last weekend at Kings Point with a women's, open and singlehanded competition. The Big Red earned a pair of top 10 finishes despite resting much of its usual lineup in preparation for the ACC weekend.
