ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell women's lacrosse team will head to the Granite State to kick off Spring Break with a pair of contests beginning with a conference tilt at Dartmouth on Saturday, March 29 at 3:30 p.m. at Scully-Fahey Field. The Big Red will also square off with New Hampshire for the first time in 16 seasons when it visits Wildcat Field on Monday, March 31 at 1 p.m. in Durham, N.H. Both contests will be broadcast on ESPN+.

• Cornell improved to 7-2 on the year following a 19-13 triumph over Columbia on Saturday and moved into the USA Lacrosse Top 20 poll at No. 19.
• The Big Red tied a school record with 22 draw controls against the Lions with Kylie Gelabert becoming the 29th player in Cornell history to surpass 100 career points.
• Cornell's offense has been explosive, averaging 15.4 goals per game (10th nationally) with eight of its nine contests in double figures and two games with 20 or more goals (and one additional with 19).
• Cornell's offense has also been deadly accurate, as its .500 shooting percentage is second in Division I and leads the Ivy League.
• The Big Red ranks seventh nationally in assists (8.1) and points per game (23.6) after its first nine contests.
• Head coach Jenny Graap's team returns five of its top six scorers, a veteran defense composed of four seniors, and its top two goalkeepers.

A WIN OVER DARTMOUTH WOULD ...

• make Cornell 3-0 to start Ivy League play for the first time since starting 5-0 in 2017.
• extend its win streak over the Big Green to four games and narrow the deficit in the all-time series to 33-13.
• push Graap's career record at Cornell to 242-169 (.589) and to 262-213 overall (.552).
• be the 384th in program history (383-335-4, .533).

LAST TIME VS. DARTMOUTH
• A rainy Saturday afternoon did nothing to dampen the spirits of the Big Red, securing its Ivy League opener for the fourth time in the last five seasons with a 15-13 victory over Dartmouth on Schoellkopf Field.
• Seven Big Red athletes found the back of the net in a game with 73 shots between the Ivy League foes.
Josie Vogel led Cornell's high-powered offense with three goals and an assist.
Sophie Ward had her second hat trick of the season, and Dillyn Patten secured the first of her career.
• Three other athletes had multi-point performances on the day in Bridget Babcock (two goals, two assists), Maggie Pons (two goals, two assists), and Kylie Gelabert (one goal, two assists).
• Babcock was also a pest from her midfielder position, securing a career-high five ground balls and a team-high two caused turnovers.
• Katinia Christensen was the leader for the Big Green, scoring four goals and adding an assist on eight shots attempted, while Fiona O'Keeffe had four points (two goals, two assists).

LAST TIME VS. NEW HAMPSHIRE
• The Cornell defense, with junior goalkeeper Kristen Reese posting the best game of her collegiate career, held a powerful New Hampshire offense scoreless for more than 31 minutes to knock off the 19th-ranked Wildcats 5-3 at Memorial Field.
• Reese finished with 13 saves and allowed just three goals in picking up the victory in goal, chipping in with four ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers in the victory.
• Tissy O'Connor had three of the team's 10 caused turnovers on the day.
• On offense, freshman Shannon McHugh and Libby Johnson each scored a pair of goals, while Jessica Wiegand also found the back of the net.
• Overall, Cornell held a 23-19 edge in shots and a 22-14 edge in ground balls.
• Ashley Durepo had a goal and an assist in the loss for New Hampshire, while goalkeeper Kate Gunts had 10 saves and allowed just five goals in an outstanding effort between the pipes.

MILESTONE WATCH
• Senior Josie Vogel's 128 points rank 19th all-time at Cornell and needs one to reach 18th, two to get to 16th, and five from the top 15.
• With 100 career goals, Vogel is eight away from joining the school's top 10 list.
• With 48 and 45 assists, respectively, Gelabert and Pons are on the verge of becoming the ninth and 10th players in school history with 50 helpers.
• Senior Caitlin Slaminko is nine draw controls away from reaching the top 15 all-time in that category (currently with 81).
• Senior Ellie Horner is one win away from becoming the fifth Big Red goalkeeper with 20 career wins.
• With 260 career saves, Horner needs two to jump to eighth on Cornell's career list and would move to seventh with 16 stops.

NOTES TO KNOW
• Two Big Red players are within striking distance of 100 career points — seniors Maggie Pons (98) and Caitlin Slaminko (96). Two others, Josie Vogel (19th, 128) and Kylie Gelabert (27th, 105) are among the 29 players in school history to reach the century mark.
• Senior Maggie Pons tied the school's single-game record for assists with six in the win over Binghamton — a mark hit six times previously, the last by Emily Tripodi against Boston University in 2013.
• The Big Red has reached double figures in goals in eight of its nine contests this season with a pair of 20-goal games and another with 19 scores.
• Cornell set team records for goals (24), assists (17) and points (41) in the Big Red's 24-7 victory over Niagara, while its 21 draw controls were tied for the third-most in school history.
• Kylie Gelabert recorded seven goals, two assists and nine points in the win over Niagara, scoring goals on all seven shot attempts. The seven goals and nine points were both one shy of the Big Red single-game records.
• Ella Wilmot's eight-point effort (three goals, five assists) against the Purple Eagles left her one short of the single-game school record for assists and her points total good for ninth all-time.
• Sophomore Ellie Bergin's 13 draw controls against Binghamton established a new single-game school record, surpassing the 12 Annie Thomas '24 recorded against UAlbany in 2022.
• Bergin followed that up the next game with 10 draws, becoming just the second player in school history to have multiple games with 10 or more draws (Annie Thomas '24 did it four times).
• The Big Red has posted three of the four highest single-game draw control totals in school history, including matching the record of 22 against Columbia.
• Cornell's offense has put at least 70 percent of its shots on target in eight of nine games this season and over 80 percent five times.
• The defense caused 18 turnovers against Stanford earlier this season, the most by a Big Red team in a game since forcing 19 at Rutgers in 2010.
• In seven contests against unranked opponents in 2025, the Big Red offense is averaging 17.4 goals and the defense has allowed just 9.3 goals and posted a .449 save percentage.
• The Big Red is 7-0 this season when leading at the half, keeping up its wild success when leading at the break under head coach Jenny Graap '86 (194-21, .902).
• In nine games this season, junior Ella Wilmot (21 goals, 17 assists) has more than tripled her career scoring total entering the campaign (12 points).
• Another big trend under Graap — Cornell is 193-25 (.885) when holding opponents to fewer than 10 goals in a game and 92-2 (.979) when that is six or fewer.
• Senior Josie Vogel was named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic At-Large All-District Team after sporting a 3.70 GPA in Government.
• Sophomore defender Julia Ramsey in a two-year letter winner on the field hockey team where she already ranks sixth in school history in career assists (21). Her sister, Caroline '24, is a two-time All-American, Cornell's all-time leading scorer and a member of the Team USA in field hockey.
• One of Ramsey's cousins was Annie Thomas '24, Cornell's all-time leader in draw controls (233).
• Junior midfielder Dillyn Patten joined the England Women's Senior Performance Squad this past December.
• The England Women's Field Lacrosse Team is ranked third in the world and won the Women's European Lacrosse Championship 2024.
• Patten's sister, Kendall '24, played soccer for the Big Red, as did her mother, Corinne (Cantrall) Patten '92.
• The Big Red has qualified for the Ivy League Tournament 10 times in the 14 years it has been held.
• Senior defender Alessia Packard has a sister (Antonia '25, field hockey) and brother (Charles '24, men's lacrosse) who are recent Big Red graduates and varsity athletes.

THE CAPTAINS
• The Big Red is led by three captains this season: seniors Caitlin Slaminko and Lucy Dwyer along with junior Caitlin Tully
• Slaminko returns as a two-time captain, while Tully and Dwyer take on the role for the first time.

NEW YORK STATE OF MIND
• The matchup with Niagara on Feb. 25 was Cornell's 250th all-time game against fellow New York state schools.
• Cornell has traditionally been very successful against collegiate teams from New York state, posting an all-time record of 163-85-3 (.654).
• The Big Red has five New York teams on its schedule during the 2025 season – Syracuse (L, 18-10), Colgate (15-6), Niagara (24-7), Binghamton (W, 20-9) and Columbia.

NOTES ON JENNY GRAAP '86
• Jenny Graap '86 ranks as the 12th active winningest Division I women's lacrosse coach with her 261 career victories. Directly ahead of her in 11th is Joe Spallina of Stony Brook who entered the season with 283 victories.
• Her 28 seasons on the Big Red sidelines makes her the third-longest tenured coach at their school entering the 2025 season, behind only Duke's Kerstin Kimel (1996) and North Carolina's Jenny Levy (1996).
• Graap ranks fourth on the Ivy League's all-time wins list, behind only Princeton's Chris Sailer (433 from 1987-2022), Penn's Karin Corbett (273 from 2000-present) and Harvard's Carole Kleinfelder (259 from 1979-2003) as of March 19.

• Graap's 240 career wins (and counting) for the Big Red ranks her 12th all-time among Cornell head coaches in all sports and second among women coaches (behind Andrea Dutcher with 346 volleyball wins from 1974-87).

HALL OF FAME
• Jessi Steinberg '12 was inducted into the Cornell Athletics Hall of Fame this past fall.
