ITHACA, N.Y. - The Cornell women's tennis team eyes its first Ivy League win of 2025 when it closes out its road slate at Princeton before beginning a season-ending three-match home stand with Penn this weekend. Cornell visits Princeton on Friday, April 11 at 2 p.m. before returning home to face Penn on Sunday, April 11 at 1 p.m.
The Big Red brings a 10-6 record into the week and will be trying to snap a two-game skid after losses to Yale and Brown last weekend. Four Big Red players own eight singles wins with sophomore
Michelle Ryndin posting a 9-5 mark while seeing a majority of her action at No. 1 singles.
Sage Loudon (9-7),
Andrea Martinez De Los Rios (8-3) and
Jenny Wong (8-5) are also within a win of the team lead, while two others have seven or more wins for head coach
Katie Zordani's squad. Cornell is 6-1 at home this season with the stretch run coming in Ithaca.
Princeton is 7-10 overall (0-3 Ivy) and brings a six-match losing streak into the weekend. Head coach Elizabeth Johnson's team has been led by Alice Ferlito (6-2) at No. 1 singles. The Tigers own a pair of wins over Harvard (4-3 and 4-2) and one over the Big Red (4-1) earlier this season, along with a victory over nationally-ranked Maryland on the road.
The Quakers, under the direction of head coach Sanela Kunovac, have posted a 9-8 record and are 2-1 in Ivy League play with victories over Princeton and Dartmouth. Sabine Rutlauka is ranked No. 72 in the latest ITA rankings, while Esha Velaga is No. 116. Gavriella Smith (11-7) and Maya Urata (11-6) both have reached double figures in singles wins.
