ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cornell men's track and field will travel to Yale to compete at the 2025 Ivy League Outdoor Heptagonal Championship at Cuyler Athletic Complex on Saturday and Sunday.
MEET INFO
The first day of the Outdoor Heptagonal Championships will start at 11 a.m. with the men's long jump and hammer throw followed with the 1500m at 1:20 p.m. on the track. Sunday's events will start at 11 a.m. with the triple jump and 3000m steeplechase final shortly after.
Cornell is joined in the field by Brown, Columbia, Dartmouth, Harvard, Penn, Princeton and host Yale.
Medals will be presented on Saturday and Sunday to the first six-place finishers in individual and relay events. Each event placement will accumulate over the two days for an overall team score. Points will be awarded as follows: First place (10 points), Second place (8 points), Third place (6 points), Fourth place (4 points), Fifth place (2 points) and Sixth place (1 point).
The team champion and individual awards ceremony such as, Men's Most Outstanding Field Performer and Men's Most Outstanding Track Performer, will take place at the conclusion of competition Sunday.

LAST OUTDOOR HEPS
The Cornell men's track and field team earned 68 points which handed the Big Red a fourth-place finish at the 2024 Outdoor Ivy League Heptagonal Championships. Damian Hackett captured the lone individual title for Cornell, coming in the 1500m run. Outside of crowning a Heps champion, the Big Red gathered 15 podium finishes. Cornell scored its points in the 1500m, 5000m, pole vault, hammer throw, 110m and 400m hurdles, decathlon, 3000 steeplechase, high jump, 100m and 200m dash, triple jump, discus, javelin and the 4x400 relay.
Domenic Barresi took fourth-place (10.43 seconds) in the 100m dash for an additional four points to the team score, and another point for his finish in the 200m dash. Ryder King took third (14.18 seconds) in the 110m hurdles to take podium bronze and earn six team points as well as running his personal-best 51.76 in the 400m hurdles for fourth-place. Derek Amicon took third-place in the 3000m steeplechase with his personal-record of 8:51.51
Kameron Coleman put up a 14.55m personal-best triple jump which slotted him fifth and gained two team points. Joseph Rachiele was also a throws point-scorer, finishing sixth in the javelin with a 56.69m mark.
A LOOKBACK AT INDOOR HEPS
The Cornell men's track and field team delivered a strong performance at the 2025 Ivy League Heptagonal Championships, finishing third overall at Barton Hall on March 2. The Big Red crowned three individual champions, with Damian Hackett in the mile, Pierre Attiogbe in the 3000m, and Eli Gault-Crabb in the pole vault, each securing crucial points toward the team's success.
Hackett gave a stunning performance in the mile, clocking 3:57.74 to not only take gold but also shatter the meet and Barton Hall facility records. Attiogbe dominated the 3000m, winning in 8:00.88 and setting a new facility record in the process. Gault-Crabb added to Cornell's title haul by clearing 5.35m in the pole vault, claiming first place and earning 10 team points.
Sprinter Domenic Barresi had an impressive showing, medaling in two events. He sprinted to second in the 60m dash with a time of 6.79 and later placed fifth in the 200m (21.84)
In the field events, Desmond Whitley placed fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 15.01m, while Peter Northrup earned two points in the shot put with a fifth-place finish (17.76m). High jumper Michael Prieto also contributed to the team's overall score, placing fifth with a clearance of 2.06m.
Ryder King and Michael Mazero each notched fifth-place finishes. King in the 60m hurdles (7.91) and Mazero in the 400m (48.10).
Cornell's relay teams delivered across the board, with each squad finishing in the top three. The distance medley relay team of Peyton Shute, Jack Daly, Elijah Schechter, and Attiogbe secured a runner-up finish, while the 4x800m squad—featuring Ryan Johnson, Tyler Tisinger, Brady Shute, and Hackett—claimed third. The 4x400m relay team, composed of Fabien De Silva, Seamus Finn, King, and Mazero, also placed third, rounding out a well-rounded team performance.
THE RANKINGS
Cornell men's track and field remain in fourth in the Northeast region of the USTFCCCA Regional Track & Field Rating Index and the Ivy League.
Through six weeks, the 400m hurdlers are ranked 11th nationally, the triple jump squad sits at 12th, and the 1500m group holds the 20th spot overall.
Damian Hackett holds the eighth fastest time nationally in the 1500m with Pierre Attiogbe right behind him at 11th. Eli Gault-Crabb enters the top 30 after his performance at the Big Red Invite with a mark of 5.37m placing him 29th in the NCAA.
LAST TIME OUT
Cornell men's track and field celebrated senior day with the rainy Big Red Invitational on Sunday afternoon.
Eli Gault-Crabb headlined the meet with a school-record and season-best 5.37m clearance in the pole vault, earning first place. In the throws, Peter Northrup took first in both shot put (16.84m) and hammer throw (51.86m). Noah Harman added a strong second-place finish in the shot put with a mark of 16.37m.
Zach Fagin won the long jump with a personal-best 6.82m, followed closely by Kameron Coleman, who also hit a personal best of 6.66m for second. In the triple jump, Ryan Antwi exploded for a personal-best 14.75m to win the event, with Desmond Whitley finishing second at 14.28m.
Rithikh Prakash ran a personal-best 3:53.56 to win the 1500m. Finn Boyle clocked a personal-best 49.15 in the 400m for the win, with Neil Chowdhurry right behind at 49.57 for second. The 800m race featured a 1-2 finish, with Noah Cummings running a personal-best 1:52.51 to take first, and Sam Ayers earning second in 1:53.24.
