ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell gymnastics will take part in its first road meet of the season on Sunday, Jan. 18 when it travels to the nations capital for the George Washington Invitational, taking on the host Revolutionaries, Penn, and West Chester.
THE MEET
The annual Lindsey Ferris Invitational will take place on Sunday, Jan. 18 at 1 p.m. inside the Charles E. Smith Center.
Coverage of the quad-meet will be carried on ESPN+.
Gymnastics East Conference foes, Penn and West Chester will also be competing in the meet. The Quakers took first-place in Cornell's season-opening tri-meet on Sunday, Jan. 11.
CORNELL UPDATE
The Big Red showed balanced scoring across all four events in their season opener, posting a 192.775 to finish second behind Penn (194.850).
Sarah Goetter tied for the floor exercise title with a 9.775, while
Cami Whitaker placed second on vault with a 9.825. Cornell demonstrated solid depth with consistent contributions from its lineup, particularly on vault (48.500) and bars (48.500).
LAST TIME OUT
Cornell scored 192.775 to finish second at a tri-meet with Penn and Bridgeport on Jan. 11 at Newman Arena.
Sarah Goetter tied for first on floor (9.775),
Cami Whitaker posted a 9.825 on vault, and
Natalia Tehrani led on bars (9.725) and beam (9.700).
UP NEXT
The Big Red will host a quad meet on Sunday, Jan. 25, hosting West Chester, Brockport, Bowling Green inside Newman Arena. The meet is slated for a 1 p.m. start and will be broadcasted live on ESPN+.
