| By:
ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell women's tennis team will head to the Hoosier State for a pair of weekend non-conference dual matches. The Big Red will face Indiana on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 12 p.m. before heading to Ball State on Sunday, Feb. 22 at 11 a.m.

The Big Red is 3-3 on the season after finishing sixth at the ECAC Indoor Championships, including a 4-3 victory over Dartmouth and a tight 4-2 loss to Columbia. Cornell also owns wins over St. Bonaventure (7-0) and Niagara (6-1) this spring.

Interim Carl H. Meinig '31 Head Coach of Women's Tennis Spencer Furman returns a balanced lineup that gained valuable experience during a competitive fall season, highlighted by strong individual performances at the ITA Northeast Regional Championships and Ivy League Conference Masters events.

Sophomore Sage Loudon (9-8) and junior Michelle Ryndin (6-7) have played in the top spot in the lineup with junior Victoria Zhao (8-8), sophomore Andrea Martinez de los Rios (10-6) and freshman Dylan Gelber (11-4) also mainstays in the lineup. Martina Marica (3-6), Emma Baker (3-9) and Tanya Fan (5-6) have also earned time in dual matches so far this spring.

Indiana is 7-1 on the season after suffering its first loss of 2025-26 this past weekend at Louisville. Head coach Gabrielle Moore's squad sports a 27-6 record in singles play this spring with Hi'ilani Williams posting a perfect 7-0 record. Indiana leads the all-time series 6-0, with the last two contests (2023 and 2024) going as 4-3 decisions for the Hoosiers.

Ball State is 3-2 on the young season with matches against Cincinnati and Purdue on the docket this week prior to its contest with the Big Red under head coach Sachin Kirtane. This will be the first-ever matchup between the schools in women's tennis.
