ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell women's tennis team will eye its first Ivy League victory of the season when it splits its weekend between a home contest with No. 48 Princeton on Friday, April 10 at 2 p.m., and a road matchup with Penn on Sunday, April 12 at 1 p.m.
The Big Red has been competitive in all three Ivy defeats to date, pushing nationally-ranked Columbia and Yale and falling 4-2 to Brown with the deciding match going to tiebreakers in the third set and the Big Red leading in the remaining contest.

Spencer Furman following tight losses last weekend to nationally-ranked Yale and Brown. Cornell owns wins over Dartmouth (4-3), Buffalo (5-2) and UConn (4-3) this spring, among others. The team's balanced lineup has gained valuable experience during a competitive fall season, highlighted by strong individual performances at the ITA Northeast Regional Championships and Ivy League Conference Masters events.
Sophomore
Sage Loudon (14-11) and junior
Michelle Ryndin (11-9) have played in the top spot in the lineup with junior
Victoria Zhao (12-10), sophomore Andrea Martinez de los Rios (13-8) and freshman
Dylan Gelber (15-10) also mainstays in the lineup. Loudon and Ryndin have a team-best six wins together in doubles from their spot at No. 1.
The Tigers are a perfect 3-0 in Ivy play to start the year and are 15-2 overall with victories over Rutgers, Michigan State and Fresno State. Head coach Elizabeth Johnson's squad is led at the top of the order by Alice Ferlito, who posts a 14-5 record while playing at No. 1 singles. She is ranked No. 87 in the latest ITA rankings. Additionally, the doubles tandem of Tsehay Driscoll and Pearlie Zhang is 10-9 on the year and was ranked in the top 80 of the ITA rankings just a week ago.
Penn head coach Sanela Kunovac's team is 10-9 overall with a 1-2 Ivy record entering the weekend. The Quakers own victories over Villanova, Dartmouth, Columbia and Harvard, among others. Esha Velaga is 13-8 while playing at the top of the order, while Lara Stojanovski is 14-13 while splitting time in the top two spots in the order.
