ITHACA, N.Y. -- Junior
Chris Wroblewski has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District 1 first-team for his performance on the court and in the classroom during the 2010-11 season. Wroblewski will now join the national ballot for the prestigious Academic All-America team.
Wroblewski, a candidate for the Bob Cousy Award as the nation's top point guard, was named to the all-district team for the second straight year. Through the team's first 18 games, Wroblewski is leading the team in scoring (15.0 ppg.) and assists (5.7 apg.) and is second in steals (1.4 spg.). An honorable mention All-Ivy League pick in 2009-10, Wroblewski has been a key contributor to two Ivy championship teams and a starter on the 2010 NCAA Sweet 16 squad. The school's all-time leader in 3-point field goal percentage (.441), Wroblewski ranks in the top 20 all-time at Cornell in 3-point field goals, 3-point percentage, assists and steals. As a junior in 2010-11, Wroblewski ranks third in the Ancient Eight in scoring and 3-point field goals, first in assists and second in steals. The 2008 Ivy League Rookie of the Year is a three-time weekly honoree. Off the court, Wroblewski has posted a 3.61 grade point average in Applied Economics and Management.
Wroblewski and the Big Red return to action on Friday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. when they travel to Yale.
